Project overview

Redesigned the webinar experience within ATRF’s MyPension portal to make retirement education easier for members to find, manage, and attend. The updated experience clarifies registration and live session states, reduces unnecessary steps, and delivers a fully accessible, mobile-responsive flow aligned with the MyPension design system.

Problem

Members had limited visibility into available webinars and their current participation status. Registration states were unclear, live sessions were difficult to identify, and common actions—such as joining or unregistering—required extra effort, particularly on mobile.

This resulted in confusion around session status, repeated navigation, and avoidable support inquiries.

Approach

  • Simplify webinar discovery and session management

  • Make registration, attendance, and live status immediately clear

  • Reduce friction for high-intent actions like joining live sessions

  • Ensure accessibility and responsive behavior across devices

Solution

Unified Webinar Listing

Introduced a predictable, tab-based structure that separates All Sessions from Registered sessions. This allows members to easily discover new webinars while quickly managing sessions they’ve already signed up for.

Clear Registration & Live States

Designed explicit states for:

  • Register

  • Unregister

  • Join Live

Live sessions are visually prioritized with real-time indicators (e.g. LIVE, Happening Now), removing ambiguity and making it immediately clear when action is required.


Simplified Session Details

Consolidated session information—date, time, format, attachments, and actions—into a single, focused modal. This reduced context switching while ensuring CTAs and status updates remained clear and consistent.


Accessibility & Consistency

  • WCAG-compliant color contrast, typography, and focus states

  • Mobile-responsive, card-based layout

  • Visual and interaction alignment with the redesigned MyPension dashboard


Result

  • Clearer understanding of webinar availability, registration, and live status

  • Reduced friction and fewer steps to join or manage sessions

  • Improved consistency across desktop and mobile experiences

  • Established a reusable event pattern for future member-facing education and communications
